Kenley Johnson makes a vital mistake by forgetting to call timeout and turning his back on the runner as Everth Cabrera was able to micarously steal home to tie up the game in the 9th. Meanwhile, on the bad throw to home, Will Venable makes the heads up play and is able to come in for the go ahead run. This heads up base running by the San Diego Padres has earned the spot for play of the day.
I couldn’t even imagine what the feeling would be like as a Dodger fan in that stadium…that’s one long ride home.
