PLAY OF THE DAY Division 2 guard, Angelo Sharpless of Elizabeth City State University had one of the greatest in game dunks I’ve ever seen in a summer league game yesterday afternoon. He takes the award for play of the day and might even take the cake for play of the summer.
PLAY OF THE DAY Asleep at the mound? Kenley Johnson makes a vital mistake by forgetting to call timeout and turning his back on the runner as Everth Cabrera was able to micarously steal home to tie up the game in the 9th. Meanwhile, on the bad throw to home, Will Venable makes the heads up play and is able to come in for the go ahead run. This heads up base running by the San Diego Padres has earned the spot for play of the day.
I couldn’t even imagine what the feeling would be like as a Dodger fan in that stadium…that’s one long ride home.

PLAY OF THE DAY No spectacular play for today’s top play however Andy Murray has earned this spot with his extremely emotional speech after his Wimbledon Finals loss to Roger Federer on Sunday morning. This kid had the weight of an entire nation on his shoulders and he couldn’t have handled it any better. No doubt he will be back to go for this again.
PLAY OF THE DAY This man should be signed up for the NBA dunk contest since it’s getting to the point where it’s so boring I don’t even want to watch anymore. Sign this man up.
PLAY OF THE DAY James Harden tosses a perfect pass to Kevin Durant who delivers a monster slam dunk. Durant has been the recipient of the Play of the Day honor two games in a row, and its not hard to see why after watching this play.
PLAY OF THE DAY Kevin Durant easily flies by Joel Anthony on the dribble and finishes with a thunderous dunk over Chris Bosh, delivering the play of the day. The onus is now on Lebron James to try to match this unbelievable dunk in Game 2.
